FROGS – TOADS

You most likely will encounter both. Whether you take enough time to slow down to observe them is another matter.

But their telltale croaking an chirping will be difficult to miss.

Think twice before crossing shallow slow moving water. Especially in early parts of the year, during mating, egg laying, and tadpole season. Don’t go wildly running through such area’s and destroy these creatures. Take the time to observe the tiny beauty in some of these waterways and pools.

In the campground there are little water offshoots from the main stream and Fern Spring run off. Some overgrown with grasses. Others more exposed. All of which creates an abundant and natural riparian environment.

The spring mating call of the common toad is a very distinct sound. Better than the best music for lulling you to sleep.
